From the Grad Night Party - Volunteers Needed

Each year, SEHS parents, in collaboration with Friends of South, puts on a graduation party for the SEHS Class of 2027. If you are interested in supporting this event, they could use your help

There is an experienced, but small, group of volunteers beginning the planning for this year, and they need your help! If you are interested in being involved with planning for, fundraising for, or chaperoning the event, please join the team for the first meeting on November 17th at 7pm upstairs at Market of Choice Southtowne. You can also email sehsgradnight@gmail.com.

The SEHS Senior Graduation Party is not a school sanctioned event.  Organized by SEHS parents in collaboration with Friends of South, this long standing tradition provides a safe space for graduates to gather & celebrate their final night as high school students. It happens the night of graduation at the University of Oregon Student Rec Center and typically runs from 10pm-3am.

COLLEGE and CAREER CENTER CURRENT EVENTS:

Senior Planning Timeline 2026-27

LCC’s RTEC101 course: Free LCC class, worth one college credit, for seniors considering attending LCC. This class will provide you with the necessary tools and resources to become a successful student at Lane. Next course begins 1/4/27.

LCC’s LEAP Program: All Lane County high school juniors and seniors can take any single LCC course this school year that they meet the prerequisites for without paying any tuition. (They still have to pay course fees.)

Now: OSAC Scholarships application is open. Most OSAC scholarships require a completed FAFSA or ORSAA. Use the catalog of OSAC scholarships by doing several keyword searches to find good-fit scholarships. Final  deadline 3/1, but submit by 2/16 to be eligible for $1,000 drawing. Pro tip: Start applying for these scholarships early enough to select all that you’re eligible for via the catalog since the filtering system in the application does a poor job of selecting for you.

11/6: Duck Preview. 10 am-4 pm on the UO campus. Fall open house designed to give high school juniors, seniors, and transfer students a head start on the college search process.

11/6: LCC Campus Tour. 11 am-12 pm at LCC’s main campus. Campus visits are a great way to see the campus, visit programs, and ask questions to make sure Lane is the right choice for you.

11/7: OSU-Cascades (Bend) Beaver Preview. 9 am-3 pm on the OSU-Cascades campus. Tour campus with a current student, meet faculty, find out what makes a strong admission application, and get your financial aid and scholarship questions answered. This is the perfect time to learn more about becoming a Bend Beav.

11/7: Pacific University Senior Preview Scholarship Day (In Person): 9 am-12:30 pm at Pacific University’s Washburne University Center Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) in Forest Grove. Senior Preview Scholarship Day is your opportunity to experience life at Pacific, connect with our community and earn a $2,000 annual scholarship simply by participating.
