We want to send out one last newsletter shout-out to the Class of 2026! You are at a pivotal moment of your lives, and we are so excited to see where each one of you goes from here. Each one of you impacted the community of South in your own ways, and those memories will always be a part of the South community. Congratulations Graduates!

Food & Clothing Pantry Distribution

South families and students are invited to join us for our end-of-the-year distribution event on Friday, June 12, starting at 12:00 PM (noon) to 2pm.

Please stop by the Cafeteria and the Amazon Room to collect complimentary surplus food items and assorted donated goods. Everything must go!

Note: While we will have a limited number of boxes and bags on site, families are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags to transport items home. We look forward to seeing you there and wish everyone a wonderful start to the summer!

End of Year Tasks: 9 - 11th Graders!

All Sophomores (will be Juniors next year) must turn in their laptops and chargers this summer. This is a requirement to ensure your laptops are ready to go for Junior year. You can turn them in to Rose in the auditorium lobby during lunch or after school next week.

If you have an 11 inch loaner computer it must be turned in no matter what grade you are in. You will be reissued a computer next year.

Not sure if you need to turn in tech? See Rose in the auditorium lobby during lunch or after school next week.

The end of the year is fast approaching!  Now is the time to begin returning all textbooks, class novels, calculators and other items you are no longer using.  To avoid being charged late fines, have all items returned by your last day of school.

Counseling Corner
South Eugene High School logo
Below you will find timely announcements to keep you informed about counseling services and academic activities available to students and families. We hope these messages inspire conversations between students and guardians about opportunities at South.  Please contact Counseling Secretary Jessica at 541.790.8013 or kuehn_j@4j.lane.edu for further information.

SENIOR LAPTOPS

Seniors must return their laptop, charger, and other tech to South next week. If they need assistance with moving documents or data from a school laptop to a personal device, counseling has a step-by-step printout guide for that process.

Instructions are also available in students’ Class of 2026 Canvas Announcements.

Laptop returns will be announced and conducted from June 1 - June 3.

If we do not receive a senior laptop, we will hold their diploma until it is returned.

GUEST SEATING FOR GRADUATION

The Hult Center will open for guest seating starting at 6pm the evening of graduation. Be sure that each guest has their ticket in hand before the event, as this is a closed event and a ticket will be required for entry at the door.

GRADUATION REHEARSAL: TUESDAY, JUNE 9 @ 9am

On 6/9 seniors must be at the Hult Center at 9 and 6.

  • 9am is the rehearsal for graduation; if a senior is not at rehearsal they cannot participate in the ceremony! They should leave plenty of extra time for parking downtown, and can dress casually for the practice round.

  • 6pm is when seniors gather wearing their caps and gowns in the Hult Center courtyard for the senior photo. They will then line up in preparation for the ceremony beginning promptly at 7pm.

Call for more information at 541-790-8013.

CONGRATULATIONS SENIORS!

LAPTOP RETURNS

Seniors must return their laptop, charger, and other tech to South in order to receive their physical diploma. Bring any unreturned tech to the main office.

Sophomores will also need to return their laptops before summer break, so that the devices can receive important updates before junior year testing season.

Finally, any South student who has a ‘loaner laptop’ of a slightly older model must return that device before the end of the school year.

If students need assistance with moving documents or data from a school laptop

to a personal device, counseling has a step-by-step printout guide for that process.

Thank you for safeguarding these important 4j resources.

CLUB AXE ON-SITE TUTORING

Monday from 3:30-4:30 pm will be the last chance this year for free tutoring by South teachers and staff as we wrap up second semester! Keep an eye out for fliers next fall when Club Axe returns in full force.

Let’s finish strong, AXE!
