Forecasting has Begun at South!

Sophomores heard a forecasting presentation in one of their classes this week and Freshmen will be hearing a presentation next week.  Students will be inputting their "official" class selections into the system during Advisory on Thursday, April 16th.  We want to note that this is the initial phase of the course selection process for the upcoming school year. At this stage, course requests are used for planning purposes; no courses are guaranteed for next year. In June, there will be an opportunity to review choices, make necessary adjustments, and finalize course requests.

If you would like to know more information about forecasting, we suggest looking at the 26-27 Curriculum Guide.  If you have general questions, you can reach out to southscheduling@4j.lane.edu or students can schedule an appointment with their counselor.
Yearbook Information

Hello South students and families!
Your 2026 yearbook is currently at print. We still have a limited number of copies available for pre-sale; the price is $75. We do not sell yearbooks through SchoolPay.  All sales are done through our Jostens sales portal at this link. There is a $3.99 service fee.

Any books still available for purchase at distribution (predicted for the first week in June, before seniors' last day) will be $80 at the door.
If you can't remember if you've purchased a yearbook, here are the sales lists as of April 2:
If your student is not on the list, but you think they should be, please search the email account you would have used to make the purchase for the terms "Jostens" and  "confirmation," and make sure the message is from after Aug. 30, 2025.
  • If your student is not on the list, and no purchase confirmation comes up in your email search, you have likely not purchased a yearbook yet.
If you have further questions, email yearbook adviser Bobbie Willis at willis_b@4j.lane.edu. Thank you for supporting South yearbook!

A graduation tradition unique to South is that each senior is allowed to choose their own seat on the Hult Center Stage for commencement. But… before they are cleared to choose their seat location on April 21st, they must complete several check-out tasks in advance. Seniors will not be permitted to choose their seating until all tasks are complete.
