South's History
Schools in Lane County have spanned back to the time Pioneers were still settling Oregon in the 1850s. Throughout Oregon, South Eugene High School has been known for its academic physique and diverse student body. The building on 19th Street and Paterson was built in 1953 as "Eugene High School." Four years later, after North Eugene High School was built, Eugene High School changed it's name to South Eugene High School.
