What is Scrip?
Scrip is a means of supporting schools through which merchants donate a percentage of your purchase to benefit the school of your choice. Scrip comes in two forms: traditional (paper) scrip, and electronic scrip, AKA "eScrip."

* Electronic Scrip is an account that records your purchases at participating merchants through your credit card, grocery card or special retail card.  Through your electronic scrip account, you may designate South Eugene High School as a recipient of the merchant’s donation, which ranges from 1%-5% of your purchase.

* eScrip is so easy and has such tremendous potential.  Last year it raised about $15,000 and it has the potential to raise ten times that much.  For example, of the hundreds of families who are enrolled on eScrip as South supporters, 38 of them have already raised over $6,000 for us since January, 2008, just by buying the same groceries they would have bought all along!  

* To enroll on eScrip, just go to http://www.escrip.com and follow the directions to sign up.  For group name, just type in South Eugene High School.  By registering your credit or debit card that you use (and club cards such as Safeway), participating merchants (including Market of Choice, Safeway, and hundreds of others) will automatically send our school anywhere between 2 - 8% of your purchase.  For example, a Market of Choice shopper who spends $500/month would earn our school appx. $200/year just by being enrolled on escrip.  50 such shoppers would earn us $10,000 per year!  

* Access your favorite online stores from eScrip.com, and South will also receive a donation equal to 1-10% of your purchase

* Grandparents, friends and colleagues, even in other towns or states, can designate South when they register for eScrip.

* If you designate more than one school at eScrip, your donations will be split among the designated recipients.

* eScrip is effortless once you register (or RENEW!) your cards. Donations are automatically sent to South when you use registered debit or credit cards at participating local or online merchants

* Is it safe to register your cards?  YES.  Our principal, Randy Bernstein, has been involved with escrip for a decade, with well over a thousand enrollees between three different schools and have never had a complaint.  Frankly, the merchants would not get involved and support this program if they weren't confident of how well this information is protected.  

* Do you shop at Albertson's? They're not on eScrip, but they have
their own program which sends us approximately 3% of every purchase.
All you need to do the next time you're at Albertson's is tell them
our group # which is 49000100038 and ask them to "marry" this to your
Albertson's Preferred Card. You only need to do this once, and then
every time you use your card there, no matter if you pay with cash or
plastic, South will earn $$$.

- Go to www.Albertson's.com
- Click on "In the Community" at the bottom of the page
- Click on the Community Partner's logo
- Enter your Preferred Card number and corresponding phone #
- Be sure to designate SEHS, group #49000100038

Unique Eugene Scrip

This is new to South, and we sell it in the office in $10 coupons.  We buy each one for $9 and sell them for $10. They're good as cash at 20 different uniquely Eugene merchants including Sundance, Newman's, Saturday Market, Paul's Bicycles, Down To Earth, Smith Family Books, and many more.  No extra cost to you, and we get 10% on all your purchases.  You purchase $50 of Unique Eugene scrip here at South and spend it at Sundance, and that means you just earned South $5.  A new $500 bike at Paul's?  If you do so with Unique Eugene scrip and that's $50 you just earned for South.

Traditional scrip is like a gift certificate --you purchase scrip from the SEHS main office and use it just like cash. The store donates a percentage of your purchase to the school. It is an easy way to donate money and it doesn't cost you anything.
